Chii

The story is about a young boy named Hideki. (19) After coming home from his day at work. (I think he works at a snack/bar... ^.^;;) Everyone seems to have a Persocon, but him. He is dirt poor! While dreaming about his ideal Persocon (and talking to himself) he makes out the curves of his ideal Persocon... and looks down only to see a Persocon laying in the trash! (At first he mistakes it for a person who has been murdered! And screams in fear *.*;;) He jumps on his opportunity and snatches the Persocon, who is wrapped in strands of cloth, and who is also unconcious, and lugs her home. (She is heavy!) Unfortunatly, on the way home, a small disket falls, from where it had been saftley hiding, to the ground. Hideki falles to notice this, however.

Once at home, and four hours later, Hideki almost gives up trying to turn on the Persocon. As he stated: "I've pressed everything there is to press...where could the switch be?!" Then his gaze falls to the ground, and to *cough* the Persocon's crotch. Hideki is a little wierded out, but eventually takes the Persocon in his arms and presses the area. Suddenly, the Persocon comes to life! (and soon becomes naked... because all the wraps have fallen from her body.) She grabs Hideki tight and looks into his eyes... and says Chii.

Hideki gets very embaressed and the scene fades out.... The next day Hideki gets up, only to have the sun blinding him. He covers his face and looks to the other side... only to find a girl in his BED! He screams and jumps from bed, only to relize that this is the Persocon from the night before. "Chii" she repeats as Hideki stares at her... then he thinks and asks her if her name is Chii... "Chii": She agrees. So Chii becomes her new name from that day on.

Hideki is overjoyed! His own maid, his own goddess to perform any task, any desire, any chore! What luck. But how to find out just what exactly Chii can do? Frantically, he begins to search for his PC mag... while Chii looks through his X-rated magazines... *.* Hideki finally finds the correct PC magazine and holds it up in victory. Unfortunatly, Chii has decided to imitate all of the sexy women in the magazine... Hideki blushes and then screams... a few minutes later, after successfully riding Chii of the magazine, he pulls apart one of her ears and pulls from it a plug. Plugging it into his small TV (boy, the kids broke, but he has a TV and DVD player!) he sees, to his dissapointment, a screen reading: "No OS" Chii has no functions! And again Hideki screams.... and clutches his head... Chii does the same.

The rest of the first Chobits book continues to Hideki and Chii's adventures trying to find out just who she really is. Hideki talks with his best friend Shinbo and Shinbo decides to help... although Chii crashes Sumomo, his mini-persocon. No Persocon can seems to be able to find if Chii has an OS. Even Minoru, to whom Shinbo refered Hideki, was not able to successfully scan Chii's OS. It is Minoru who comes up with the idea that Chii is part of the Chobits line. Chobits are Persocon's with no OS and function entierly on their own will. It is only an urban legend... but Chii is an example that this myth may be true.

Later Minoru meets with Hideki to discuss Chobits. He then pulls out a rather familiar picture of a Chobit... however one can only read the letters HOBITS... so it may not be a Chobit at all. (But it does resembel Chii to a T.) Hideki is left to wonder what, exactly all of this means....

Although no one can determine what exactly Chii is, it is known that she has a learning system. She promptly imitates any action the characters may make... (very cute! ^-^) She learns, at the end of the series at a very rapid pace... and by the end of the book is speaking sentances and other words besides "chii". We shall see what the next chapters of Chobits uncovers about Chii.
